About the role
Join a leading automotive manufacturer as the Quality Engineering Manager and take the lead in driving quality excellence across the plant. You'll guide a team of quality professionals, champion continuous improvement initiatives, and work closely with operations and customers to deliver world-class products. Success will be measured by improvements in first-pass yield, customer satisfaction, and overall manufacturing performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality Engineering team
- Oversee Process Control Plans (PCP), PFMEA, and quality management systems
- Drive corrective and preventive actions using customer feedback, warranty data, and production metrics
- Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility
- Support APQP/PPAP activities for new product launches
- Partner with operations, engineering, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality concerns
- Coordinate customer audits and visits while ensuring compliance with IATF/TS-16949 and ISO quality standards
- Establish quality objectives, monitor key performance indicators, and promote a culture of operational excellence
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- At least 5 years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing, including leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of automotive quality systems, including IATF/TS-16949, ISO standards, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and Process Control Plans
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvement
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel occasionally and work additional hours when needed
Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Certified Quality Technician (CQT)
- Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI)
- ASE Certification, or similar quality certifications
Pay
$145,000 per year
