About the role
The Quality Engineering Manager leads the Quality Engineering and Quality Engineering Technician teams within the KEJ facility. This role provides strategic and tactical direction to ensure high-quality products meet and exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Drive improvements to key metrics and customer satisfaction through cross-functional collaboration.
- Communicate directly with customers to ensure quality product standards are met.
- Lead the implementation of Lean Six Sigma strategies and ISO standards.
- Mentor Quality Engineers and Quality Engineering Technicians.
- Co-own corrective actions to closure internally and externally.
- Automate systems as controls and reporting tools.
- Reduce overall customer PPM, FPY, and COPQ metrics.
- Analyze quality data and identify trends.
- Document and implement new processes while continuously improving current processes and documentation.
- Support the development of quotations in response to RFQs.
Requirements
- Utilization of statistical analysis and tools (e.g., Chi Square, ANOVA, DOE, SPC, ES, GD&T, MSA).
- Knowledge of KEJ quality systems and international standards (ISO).
- Knowledge of applicable customer quality standards and IPC standards.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing.
- Strong mechanical and electronics knowledge and experience.
- Quality Corrective Action background.
- Disciplined problem-solving approach.
- Project leadership skills.
- Understanding of Lean/Six Sigma concepts and/or certification.
- Proven success in running Kaizen events.
- Proven track record of leading second-party audits.
- Knowledge of software and applications development processes.
- Experience leading a diverse team in a demanding environment.
Key Performance Objectives
- Short Term: Learn customer requirements and quality flow-downs, take ownership of CFT Quality meetings, automate systems, reduce PPM, FPY, and COPQ metrics, and document/implement new processes.
- Mid-Term: Implement data-driven decisions, analyze quality data, and eliminate associated costs for NPI/production.
