About the role
The Quality Engineer will provide hands-on quality engineering support to the JASSM/LRASM program, develop and maintain inspection methods, and drive continuous improvement across the Troy facility.
Responsibilities
- Developing, modifying, and maintaining work instructions, evaluation, and control systems for processing materials into finished products.
- Designing and analyzing inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; performing statistical analysis on non-conforming parts.
- Conducting audits, hardware quality audits (HQAs), and foreign object elimination (FOE) walk-downs to identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborating with Production, Program Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure compliance and reliability.
- Investigating non-conformance issues through root-cause analysis and driving preventive measures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or higher.
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance and must have an interim secret clearance to start.
- Microsoft Office experience (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Qualifications
- Pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) background check to obtain approval to be an “employee possessor” (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items).
Skills
- Quality Engineering support in a manufacturing environment.
- Two or more years of related experience.
- One+ years of quality experience.
- Previous JASSM/LRASM experience.
- Lever Six Sigma/Green Belt or higher certification.
- SAP experience a plus.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
- Quality discipline internship or DoD Industry internship.
- Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment.
Pay
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. A company-sponsored interim secret clearance is required to start.
Schedule
Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
