Quality Engineer (Tester)

About the role

Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Quality Assurance Tester to join our team and support our client in San Antonio, TX. The QA Tester will ensure the reliability and performance of software applications through both automated and manual testing methods, designing and executing test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating closely with development teams to resolve issues efficiently. The role leverages Java for automation scripts and applies knowledge of front‑end frameworks to validate user interfaces and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases for web applications.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using established processes.
• Test front‑end frameworks for functionality, usability, and compatibility.
• Analyze test results and provide actionable feedback to developers.
• Participate in test planning, estimation, and status meetings.
• Maintain and update test documentation as needed.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in quality assurance/testing (manual & automated).
• 1 year of experience working within cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA or Confluence.
• Experience with Selenium and Cypress.
• Experience running queries to validate data.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• Experience in Java or JavaScript.
• Previous experience with automated testing tools & frameworks.
• Prior experience in a secure environment.

Pay

Base pay range: $74,800 — $138,700 USD (varies by location and other factors).
