Summary of Position

The Quality Engineer is responsible for solving problems as a result of Process/Supplier issues as well as improving and monitoring the quality process. They are responsible for implementing solutions under tight deadlines (8D, 5 Why's 3/5 Panel), and following up on engineering changes, process and products changes in order to assist in timely ISIR submission to our customer. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address process/supplier issues, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to building high quality products that continue to exceed our customer increasing expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Document test results, using cameras, spreadsheets, documents, or other tools
  • Set up mechanical, hydraulic, or electric test equipment in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, or test procedures
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, work specifications, drawings, or charts
  • Inspect or test parts to determine nature or cause of defects or malfunctions
  • Maintain test equipment in operational condition by performing routine maintenance or making minor repairs or adjustments as needed
  • Test performance of seats
  • Build instrumentation or laboratory test equipment for special purposes

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or equivalent experience

Position Requirements And Qualifications

  • 3-5 years in the Automotive Manufacturing Industry; Tier 1 experience preferred; Seating experience a plus
  • 3-5 years engineer experience
  • Core Tools (SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP) 5Phases, Drill Deep & Wide, 8D’s, 3Panel’s
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience
  • Experience with Durability, Sound Evaluation, and Hardness Test Machines
  • Experience with Torque Wrenches, Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gages, Pin Gages
  • Must be proficient using MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email
  • SAP experience is a plus
