This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Quality Engineer, QA based in the United States. As a Quality Engineer, QA, you will establish and lead the quality assurance strategy for a growing, AI-powered SaaS platform designed to help frontline workers access essential government benefits. You will take ownership of automated testing, integration quality, and release readiness across a complex web application and its connected services. Working closely with engineers and customer-facing teams, you will identify critical risks, build reliable test frameworks, and ensure every release meets clear quality standards. You will also evaluate AI-powered chat features and test systems operating in sensitive, regulated environments. This hands-on senior role offers significant autonomy, with the freedom to define testing priorities, select tools, and influence engineering practices. Your work will directly support families in accessing and maintaining the benefits they are eligible for.
Responsibilities
- Test Strategy and Automation: Identify the areas of the product most likely to fail and prioritize testing accordingly. Design and maintain end-to-end user journeys, smoke tests for every build, and integration tests that engineers can review and maintain.
- Testing Tools and CI/CD Integration: Select appropriate testing tools and implement automated test execution through GitHub Actions, ensuring testing is integrated into continuous integration workflows.
- Release Readiness and Risk Assessment: Provide a clear readiness assessment before each release, documenting passed and failed tests, untested areas, and outstanding risks. Communicate findings in accessible language and challenge release deadlines when evidence indicates unacceptable risk.
- Quality Integration Across Teams: Work directly with customer-facing and engineering teams to test features during development. Adjust priorities as workloads change
