Minimum Qualifications
- 4-year college degree in a related field (ME, EE, IE, etc.) or 2-year degree plus 2 years of related work experience
- Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems to assist with decisions related to electro-mechanical processes
- Well organized, with strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills to prepare and present technical information to all levels of management and customers, both verbally and in writing
- Experience with development of SAP, Control Plans, FMEAs, Process Operations Standards, etc.
- Ability to lead projects, obtaining support from multiple departments
- Analytical skills to understand the impact of product and process change points
- Highly proficient with personal computers and common applications such as Windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Minitab
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in the automotive industry, with emphasis in electronics
- Experience dealing with customers or suppliers
- Knowledge of Quality Systems such as IATF/TS-16949, PPAP, CAPA, NPI (New Product Introduction), APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, etc.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies (acceptance criteria or workmanship for electronic assemblies)
Responsibilities
- Customer Interface – Serve as the primary customer contact for Production Part Approval and new model quality discussions
- Process & Product Capability Verification – Validate that processes and resulting products meet all requirements through DOE, quality audits, reliability testing, strain testing, cross-sections, and related evaluations
- Procedure & Documentation Review – Lead reviews of procedures, drawings, and documentation to ensure compliance with all quality requirements, including product, process, and document audits
- Change Point Control – Manage customer-facing change control activities, including initial Production Part Approval, New Model Approval, and mass production changes
- Root Cause & Corrective Action – Identify causes of issues and implement corrective actions related to customer mass production complaints, trial units, and new model product/process maturation
- Quality Trend Analysis – Review historical quality trends and past issues to support maturation of new processes and products (e.g., Production PPH, Global PPH feedforward)
- New Model Quality Documentation – Develop comprehensive quality documents such as Process Flows, Control Plans, Maturation Plans, PFMEA, E-Reports, Special Inspection Plans, and customer approval packages
