About the role
Quality Engineers support a large-scale, heavy industrial manufacturing operation by partnering with operations to ensure product quality, drive process improvements, and maintain compliance with quality systems. This role is heavily focused on metallurgical support, data analysis, and hands-on involvement in audits, continuous improvement, and day-to-day production quality.
Responsibilities
- Support quality assurance efforts within a large-scale manufacturing environment by ensuring products meet customer specifications and internal standards
- Partner closely with operations to provide metallurgical and technical support across production
- Analyze process and product data to identify opportunities for quality improvement
- Lead and support root cause investigations, rejection analysis, and corrective actions
- Perform internal audits and maintain compliance with quality systems and procedures
- Develop and present quality reports and participate in quality-related meetings
- Conduct daily floor audits to ensure operations are running within defined parameters
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency and product quality
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience within steel or heavy industrial manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of quality systems, with exposure to ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 preferred
- Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and drive process improvements
- Hands-on experience with root cause analysis, problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with operations and engineering teams
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in a plant environment
- Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven setting

Pay
Salary typically between $70K–$100K depending on experience.
