QUALITY ENGINEER IV (Aerospace & Defense)

The Marvin Group is a Strategic Partner for Global Alternate Mission Equipment and Sustainment. As a leading defense contractor, we play a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Our collaboration extends across major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.
In this role, you will ensure consistent quality of production by supporting activities within the Business Management System (BMS). You will coach and mentor the team on daily process activities related to Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Compliance, while ensuring implementation of customer contractual requirements through timely contract review and configuration management. You will also lead continuous improvement activities, analyze product defect trends, and stay current with emerging technologies and methods in Quality Assurance.
Responsibilities
- Coach, train, and guide quality engineers (I, II, & III) on projects, RCCA facilitation, sub-tier PO flow down, MRB decision making, contract review, configuration control responsibilities, customer escorting, and review/development of customer end-item deliverables.
- Identify, initiate, and lead continuous improvement projects in collaboration with QE I, II, or III, and assembly & inspection personnel.
- Collaborate with other department leads or managers on executing cross-functional processes.
- Conduct one-on-one employee meetings and prepare performance reviews for quality engineers (I, II, & III).
- Coordinate and escort major customer visits.
- Maintain Quality KPIs/Metrics to assess the health of Quality Engineering processes, hold team accountability, and develop return-to-green plans.
- Perform Quality Engineering activities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
- 8+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in the aerospace and defense industry.
- General understanding of aerospace manufacturing and technical document interpretation (blueprints, specifications, etc.).
- Excellent presentation and communication skills—both verbal and written.
- Ability to interpret and understand industry specifications (e.g., ISO, ASME, MIL-STD, MS).
- Thorough understanding of Quality Management System requirements to AS9100.
- Effective leadership: model professionalism, encourage growth, set clear goals, and hold team members accountable.
- Experience with configuration management principles and practices.
- Proficiency with Quality Engineering tools (e.g., Cause Map, Fish Bone, PFMEA, Six Sigma, SPC).
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ certification (CQE and/or CMQOE) highly preferred.
- Green Belt certification.
- Familiarity with SAP.
- Experience with Lockheed, Raytheon, or DCMA customers.

Pay
Base salary range: $130,000 – $165,000 (commensurate with experience, skills, and education).
Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position with no travel requirements (0%).
