Quality Engineer III
About the Role
Nakupuna Consulting is seeking a Quality Engineer III to provide software testing, data collection and analysis, subject matter expertise, and mentorship supporting the execution of a large, multi-year contract for the Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army (IPPS-A) Army Military Payroll (AMP). The Quality Engineer III will conduct quality testing on PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) deliverables to ensure required capability for the Army client, assessing software functionality through both manual and automated testing. The role involves gathering and compiling test metric data, drafting reports on software functionality for AMP, and distributing these reports to senior managers and the Army client. The position operates in an agile environment, requiring collaboration with various Agile Teams and mentorship of junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Reviews software requirements and specifications to develop and execute testing strategies for a product or release.
- Develops reusable test functions or components.
- Executes manual and potentially automated tests to assess software functionality and performance using multiple systems, platforms, environments, or browsers.
- Identifies, logs, and tracks defects.
- Reports technical issues to development or product management teams and verifies fixes.
- Performs work under minimal supervision, handling complex issues and problems while referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group; may act as a lead or first-level supervisor.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 4-6 years of experience within the federal government, DoD, Army, or IC and/or private sector preferred. Must have experience with Software Testing applications such as Azure DevOps (ADO), Tricentis Tosca, ALM, PeopleSoft, or Workday. ERP experience is a plus.
Skills/Qualifications: Certifications in IAT Level II and SAFe for Teams preferred. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to translate customer requirements into team goals.
Clearance Requirements: This position requires a current Secret clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Schedule
Hybrid work situation requiring 2 in-office days per week. Work location is in Crystal City, VA.
Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $105,000.00 to $152,000.00 (annualized USD). The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy considering factors such as education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location.
