Quality Engineer I

As an Engineer I, you’ll launch your engineering career in a hands-on, team-oriented environment where you’ll learn how products are designed, tested, and manufactured at scale.
Responsibilities
- Support product quality and manufacturing operations
- Aid in troubleshooting product and process issues on the manufacturing floor
- Investigate customer and production challenges and support resolution efforts
- Learn and execute testing
- Support product validation and design verification testing
- Develop test plans and document results
- Apply engineering fundamentals
- Analyze designs, tolerances, and test results with guidance from senior engineers
- Contribute to continuous improvement
- Support data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality or production issues
- Assist with engineering and quality processes
- Aid in engineering change requests and documentation updates
- Develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation
- Gain exposure across the business
- Learn manufacturing processes, product lines, and internal systems
- Participate in cross-functional project teams
- Build foundational skills
- Develop knowledge of project management concepts and quality tools (FMEA, control plans, etc.)
- Learn Badger Meter’s safety standards and engineering practices
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or related field)
- Foundational Knowledge: Understanding of engineering fundamentals and problem-solving techniques
- Technical Curiosity: Interest in working in a manufacturing environment
- Willingness to Learn: Ability to learn tools such as Minitab, Excel, or basic data analysis systems
Qualifications
- Experience: Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or engineering
- Statistical Analysis: Exposure to statistical analysis, SQL, or quality tools
- Languages: Spanish language skills
Skills
- Technical Skills: Blueprint reading; GD&T is a plus
- Communication Skills: Clear communication skills (written and verbal)
