Responsibilities
- Support product and in-process quality activities for semiconductor equipment assemblies, subassemblies, and components.
- Review nonconforming material, document defects clearly, and help drive containment, root cause investigation, and corrective actions.
- Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams in CI (Continual Improvement) activities to improve process capability, reduce defects, and increase first-pass yield.
- Analyze quality data and trends using basic statistical tools and prepare clear summaries for team review.
- Absorb and maintain accurate quality records and help ensure traceability, configuration control, and documentation accuracy.
- May include travel, approximately 5-10%
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, or a related technical discipline.
- 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, supplier quality, or process engineering internships, co-ops, or full-time roles.
- Basic understanding of quality systems, inspection methods, and CAPA (Corrective Action Preventive Action) processes.
- Exposure to semiconductor, electronics, precision machining, electromechanical assembly, or capital equipment manufacturing.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, bills of material, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with measurement tools and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges.
- Ability to follow cleanroom, ESD, contamination control, and safety requirements applicable to semiconductor equipment manufacturing.
- Familiar with ERP and quality systems software used for nonconformance, CAPA, and document control activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of and practical experience in Lean, 5S, and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Working knowledge of problem solving methods and tools, 8D, pareto, histogram, fishbone, 5-whys.
