About the Role
This role will be part of a collaborative daily scrum team, responsible for analyzing, designing, and maintaining new and existing systems within the healthcare payer space. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the end-to-end testing process, including UAT coordination, and work directly with business SMEs to validate healthcare workflows. This position requires strong experience in a key healthcare domain such as Provider, Medical Management, or Claims.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, configure, debug, and maintain new or existing systems
- Work collaboratively on a daily scrum team with a scrum master, product owner, analysts, App Dev Engineers, and other Quality Engineers to iteratively deliver functional code to production
- Work with analysts, business partners, and customers to establish product or project requirements
- Mentor, lead, and train other team members
- Own UAT coordination and end-to-end test phases, working directly with business SMEs to validate real-world healthcare workflows
- Coordinate testing activities across systems and teams, ensuring alignment on test scope and defect resolution
- Communicate testing status, risks, and results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support migration/cutover and configuration testing, including legacy-to-new-system comparisons and data validation during phased rollouts
- Own testing end to end, maintain traceability through sign-off, appropriately scope regression testing, and work through defect triage across multiple teams
- Learn the healthcare applications and configuration tools associated with the assigned domain and develop regression tests and automation suites to validate new configurations
- Validate integrations and data flow between systems, which may include ETL, orchestration layers, APIs, or other integration methods
Requirements
- Healthcare payer experience with a strong understanding of how healthcare domains and systems work together
- Strong knowledge and experience in at least one of the following healthcare payer domains:
- Provider
- Medical Management
- Product & Benefits / Claims
- Quality Engineering experience with both functional testing and test automation
- Hands-on test automation experience with tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or comparable automation tools
- SQL experience with the ability to validate complex and large data sets across systems and integrations
- Python experience for test automation/scripting
- QMetry experience
- Jira and GitLab experience
- Strong understanding of data flow and integrations between systems
- Ability to test system configurations and build regression tests/automation suites around configuration changes
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with business SMEs and technical teams
- Self-motivated, curious, and comfortable learning new healthcare applications and becoming a subject matter expert within an assigned domain
- Approximately 3-4 years of relevant Quality Engineering/testing experience
Desired Skills
- Node.js and/or JavaScript experience
- Tonic.ai experience or experience with comparable data masking/synthetic test data tools
- Postman and API testing experience
- AWS experience
- Experience handling PHI data safely, including data masking or synthetic test data
- EDI transaction testing experience
- Experience with healthcare configuration platforms such as:
- Newgen - Provider
- GuidingCare - Medical Management
- Simplify - Product & Benefits
- Facets - Claims
Compensation: $72.50 - $82.50 per hour, W2, based on qualifications
Location: Eagan, MN (Hybrid)
Duration: 12+ month contract to hire
