Quality Engineer C/B/A

Purpose

Quality Engineer acts as a resource in maintaining and improving NSK’s Automotive Quality Assurance System. Responsible for developing new and/or revising existing Quality Systems and Standards in conjunction with established internal and external standards, and for developing and providing training for the implementation of these standards.

Responsibilities

• Reviews Customer and NSKA‑provided QA expectations and provides communication to other departments as required.
• Understands and supports customer requirements, AIAG requirements, and IATF/ISO requirements to assure NSK is in compliance with all applicable standards.
• Supports internal and external IATF/ISO audits and special assessments when applicable to the site.
• Oversees and provides guidance on NSK document control system and corrective action process.
• Reviews contents of PPAPs and other supplier documentation prior to approval.
• Participates in APQP for all new programs and engineering changes.
• Maintains change management associated with the quality of the products produced and the requirements set forth by the customers.
• Conducts supplier audits as well as performs follow‑up for corrective actions.
• Monitors supply base utilizing NSK’s database and ensures NSK’s expectations are understood.
• Reviews and updates quality expectations, policies, and procedures as required for NSK departments.
• Supports other aspects of quality assurance including part quality, process quality, and systems quality where needed.
