Quality Engineer (Automotive Manufacturing)

Responsibilities
- Support customer and supplier quality activities throughout the manufacturing process.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis using methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Why.
- Complete PPAPs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and other Automotive Core Tools documentation.
- Monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability.
- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
- Perform mechanical inspections utilizing CMMs, optical comparators, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Conduct supplier audits and support customer scorecards.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production to improve manufacturing quality and reduce defects.
- Support new product launches and APQP activities.
- Help mentor Quality Inspectors and Technicians while serving as a technical resource across the plant.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Automotive Quality Engineering experience.
- Experience within automotive manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and other Automotive Core Tools.
- Experience working directly with customers and suppliers.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- PREFERRED: Experience in plastic or rubber manufacturing, Injection molding, Automotive sealing systems, CMM and Optical Comparator experience, IATF 16949, ASTM Standards, APQP, Supplier Quality, Statistical analysis and capability studies.
