About the role
As a Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible for driving quality throughout the manufacturing process while serving as a key liaison between production, engineering, suppliers, and customers. You'll lead problem-solving efforts, support new product launches, improve quality systems, and ensure products consistently meet customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Lead customer and supplier quality initiatives
- Complete PPAPs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and APQP documentation
- Drive Root Cause Analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and other quality tools
- Monitor SPC, capability studies, and process performance
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications
- Perform mechanical inspections, audits, and quality investigations
- Support new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct supplier audits and manage supplier quality performance
- Communicate quality metrics, customer scorecards, and corrective actions
- Provide leadership and support to Quality Inspectors and Technicians
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and automotive quality standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of Quality Engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Experience with Automotive Core Quality Tools
- Strong knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and APQP
- Experience performing Root Cause Analysis and implementing corrective actions
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Suppliers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with rubber, plastics, or automotive sealing systems
- CMM and Optical Comparator experience
- Gauge calibration and mechanical inspection experience
- ASTM Standards knowledge
- Supplier auditing experience
- IATF 16949 experience
- Supervisory or lead quality experience
- Experience supporting new product launches

Pay
$80,000–$95,000 per year (up to $100,000–$105,000 for an exceptional candidate)
