About the Role
As our Quality Engineer, you will ensure quality systems and processes are aligned and support the growth and improvement targets of the company. This role will work with engineering, operations, business development, and finance to achieve productivity, quality, cost, and profitable revenue growth targets. Winchester’s go-to-market strategy centers around its technical capabilities, customer service, and product reliability.
Responsibilities
- Provide Quality Control support for assigned product offerings and manage the quality and reliability performance of products throughout their entire life cycle.
- Develop, review, and deploy Quality System processes and procedures.
- Assess customer, industry, and regulatory requirements and develop tailored quality plans to ensure compliance.
- Develop and execute audit plans to ensure compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive resolution of compliance issues identified during audits.
- Propose and administer QMS (Quality Management System) best practices across the organization and support an effective corrective action process.
- Drive a customer-centric, total quality culture.
- Participate in NPI projects, FAI’s, Source inspections, RMA’s, CAR’s, and general customer service.
- Champion the Winchester culture while creating a strong organization.
- Support and maintain quality systems to capture, monitor, and manage product and process quality to align with company tactical and strategic business goals.
- Assist in the development of and monitor business process performance metrics/indicators as part of quality management, making recommendations and supporting process improvements.
- Support a supply chain quality program including supplier qualification, FAI, audits, etc., in conjunction with operations.
- Follow uniform processes for FAI/qualification of products/processes for internal and external customers.
- Support the Quality Manager in responding to customer-related quality issues, including failure analysis and corrective actions, in conjunction with other functional areas.
- Support and maintain a robust corrective action process inclusive of Six Sigma, design for manufacture, design for assembly, failure mode and effects analysis, and lean manufacturing principles across all functions.
- Prepare for and represent the product group at customer, supplier quality, ISO, and related audits.
- Identify, develop, and support processes and training programs needed to meet tactical and strategic quality goals and objectives.
- Assist sales and business development by reviewing customer quality requirements and providing cost estimates when required.
- Ensure compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain the quality management system to assure and support compliance with export regulations.
- Support growth and improvement targets with systems and tools of the product group by driving continuous improvement, common processes, and company values.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- BS degree required and a minimum of 5 years of quality experience as a Quality Engineer.
- Proficiency in quality, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing techniques, design for manufacturability, design for assembly, and failure mode and effects analysis techniques in a design and manufacturing environment.
- Ability to direct quality resources to develop and implement test and inspection programs to meet customer, industry, and regulatory standards across the manufacturing site.
- Analytical thinker with demonstrated technical ability to perform root cause analysis, prepare and implement action plans, lead improvement initiatives, and interface with customer’s technical resources.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $90,000–$100,000 per year, plus incentive compensation. Exact salary will be contingent upon your experience, education, skills, and other relevant factors.
