About the role

This position will provide direction, technical expertise, and application assistance for continuous improvement activities. Responsibilities include managing the Customer and Process Corrective Action system, Internal Quality Audit function, and participating in external customer audits and ISO 9001 activities. The role serves as the quality contact/facilitator for OEM customers and may involve scrap reduction, new product development projects, and other special initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, conduct, and monitor training to meet quality objectives.
  • Assist Quality Management in selecting and utilizing qualification methods, process controls, and improvement techniques.
  • Collect, organize, and report statistical data related to process performance to identify quality problems and initiate corrective actions.
  • Coordinate corrective actions for quality problems identified by company personnel, customer complaints, and OEM requirements.
  • Interface with customer quality representatives to resolve quality assurance issues and ensure effective corrective action.
  • Lead cross-functional corrective action teams in operations.
  • Prepare PPAP documentation per OEM customer requirements.
  • Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer.
  • Administer PMI testing and create reports on components as required.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree with a background in quality, manufacturing, or industrial technology.
  • Three years of quality and/or process improvement experience.
  • Quality engineering/metrology experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO-9001 requirements.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Work Environment

  • Ability to move within an office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
  • General manufacturing, warehouse, and office environment.

Organizational Relationships

  • Must effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, and all levels of corporate and company personnel.
  • Must work and communicate with all levels of company personnel, field sales employees, distributors, end users, and suppliers.
