Quality Engineer

About the role

The Quality Engineer establishes and sustains process controls and inspections for aerospace, defense, and in-line motion projects, ensuring compliance with customer and project requirements. They coordinate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Customer Service) to lead problem-solving and corrective action efforts, eliminating scrap, warranty issues, and preventing recurrences.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain compliance with standards, process controls, and inspections for aerospace, defense, and in-line motion projects.
• Work with customers and suppliers to ensure product and process controls are established and vetted to support project requirements.
• Facilitate problem-solving, coordinate containment, and implement corrective actions for scrap and warranty returns to prevent future occurrences in cooperation with Operations, Engineering, and Customer Service.
• Maintain productive communications with customers, field representatives, team members, and other departments.
• Coordinate actions to support customers, facilitate continuous improvement initiatives, and help maintain business growth.
• Support and lead internal and customer audits.
• Comply with U.S. ITAR/EAR requirements (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) due to defense and aerospace contracts.
• May require access to United States export-controlled technical data (CTD) and hardware under ITAR/EAR; must be eligible to receive U.S. export license authorizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or other engineering disciplines.
• 1 to 5 years' experience in a Quality Engineering or related role (relevant internships, co-ops, or senior capstone projects are highly valued).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and writing skills.
• Must meet U.S. ITAR/EAR compliance requirements (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
• Gear box and metal fabrication manufacturing process flow knowledge preferred.
• Experience with Prolink/Minitab software (QC Calc, Gage Station, Office Buddy, etc.) preferred.
