Position Summary: Quality Engineer | Reports To: Director of Quality & Operational Excellence | Status: Full‑Time | FLSA Classification: Exempt.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize the effectiveness of the Quality function.
  • Develop quality and inspection plans and monitor manufacturing process performance.
  • Establish quality metrics and oversee inspection data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Lead initiatives focused on operational excellence, corrective action, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and control quality documentation.
  • Facilitate corrective and preventive action activities.
  • Identify cost‑reduction and process‑improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to establish quality standards for raw materials, work‑in‑process, and finished products.
  • Coordinate resolution of technical and quality‑related issues with internal teams.
  • Provide investigative support for customer complaints.
  • Conduct technical discussions with customers and suppliers regarding quality concerns.
  • Release inspection reports and related documentation ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
  • Prepare quality system manuals and procedures to meet regulatory standards.
  • Conduct and support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.

Skills

  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven project‑management capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, sales, and service teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience with quality systems, corrective actions, and process improvement (preferred).
  • Experience with precision measurement tools and inspection techniques.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality systems (a plus).
  • Experience with ZEISS CMM and OGP systems (a plus).
