Position Overview
A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to lead quality improvement efforts, resolve production and customer issues, and strengthen manufacturing processes. This role works closely with Production, Engineering, suppliers, customers, and Quality leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Resolve production-floor, customer, and supplier quality issues.
- Develop and improve process controls, quality procedures, and inspection methods.
- Complete customer and supplier PPAPs.
- Perform capability studies, GR&R, MSA, DOE, and statistical analysis.
- Apply quality tools including SPC, FMEA, control plans, APQP, 8D, 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and Pareto analysis.
- Support new-product introductions, equipment implementation, and material-quality initiatives.
- Conduct audits and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Train operators and management on quality procedures and tools.
- Drive improvements in scrap, rework, defects, first-pass yield, and cost of poor quality.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing.
- Strong root cause analysis, corrective action, and problem-solving experience.
- Experience with supplier quality, customer quality, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and quality-control tools.
- Strong communication, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Automotive, OEM, OES, or other regulated manufacturing experience.
- Experience within an IATF 16949-certified environment.
- PPAP, APQP, FMEA, DOE, MSA, GR&R, audits, and statistical software.
- Leveranufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
- CQE or CQA certification.
