About the role
We are looking for a Quality Engineer for our Grand Prairie, Texas Breaker Plant. You will drive quality control and assurance in our assembly and manufacturing process, develop and improve FMEA and control plans, and implement tools to enhance first pass yield. You will also lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues, support production with quality-related decisions, and collaborate with engineering and operations to improve product design and manufacturability. Additionally, you will drive cross-functional teams to reduce Cost of Quality, improve FPY, and lower Warranty costs.
Responsibilities
- Drive quality control and assurance in assembly and manufacturing processes.
- Develop and improve FMEA and control plans for manufacturing processes.
- Implement tools and controls to improve first pass yield.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues with cross-functional teams.
- Support production by making quality-related decisions and recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to improve product design and manufacturability.
- Drive cross-functional teams to improve Cost of Quality, FPY, and Warranty costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in a quality, engineering, or manufacturing-related role.
- Understanding of quality core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC), ISO 9001 standards, and production process verification.
- Problem-solving skills with experience applying 8D methodology, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and SAP (or similar ERP system).
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six Sigma and ASQ Certification (Black Belt is a plus).
- Experience with automatic transfer switch equipment and industrial power control systems.
