Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality control systems ensuring compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and IATF 16949 standards.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions (RCA/CAPA) to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Production, Engineering, and Design—to integrate quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Conduct audits and inspections to verify compliance with internal procedures, customer expectations, and industry regulations.
- Analyze quality data (SPC, capability studies, etc.) to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, inspection records, and performance metrics.
- Train and mentor team members on quality procedures, inspection techniques, and best practices.
- Serve as the primary customer liaison for all quality-related issues, including containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions using OEM-specific tools (e.g., 8D reports, customer portals).
- Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) process for evaluating and documenting nonconforming or quarantined materials.
- Develop and revise SOPs focusing on safety, functionality, and customer satisfaction.
- Interface with suppliers and customers to resolve concerns, support PPAP submissions, and promote continuous improvement.
- Communicate effectively with managers, customers, and internal teams to ensure alignment on quality requirements and resolutions.
Qualifications (Basic Requirements)
- 3–5 years of experience in quality engineering within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plan development.
- Experience applying IATF 16949, ISO 9004, and customer-specific quality standards.
- Proven problem-solving ability using 5-Why, Fishbone (Ishikawa), or 8D methodologies.
- Experience with SPC, Gage R&R, and capability studies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and advanced statistical process control.
- Hands-on experience with FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, PPAP, and DMAIC frameworks.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to convert data into actionable improvements.
