Quality Engineer

We are partnering with a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join its Quality organization in Columbus, Mississippi.
About the role
This position plays a key role in maintaining and improving the company's Quality Management System (QMS), supporting AS9100 and NADCAP compliance, developing quality procedures, leading internal audits, analyzing quality data, and ensuring manufactured products consistently meet customer and engineering requirements.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain quality procedures based on customer requirements, engineering specifications, and manufacturing processes.
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company's Quality Management System.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, including AS9100 and NADCAP requirements.
- Perform and lead internal quality audits to maintain readiness for customer, certification, and external audits.
- Develop and maintain sampling plans using recognized statistical methods.
- Identify measurable opportunities for quality and process improvement.
- Collect, analyze, and summarize quality data to identify trends and make recommendations.
- Prepare quality reports and communicate findings to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Monitor, test, and inspect products to verify compliance with established standards and requirements.
- Review customer and engineering drawings to identify key characteristics, critical items, and quality requirements.
- Partner with Quality leadership, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other departments to resolve quality-related issues.
- Help ensure documented practices accurately reflect actual processes and Quality Management System requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Previous Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience working within an ISO-based Quality Management System.
- AS9100 experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting or maintaining NADCAP certification requirements is highly preferred.
- Aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated manufacturing background preferred.
- Experience conducting or supporting internal quality audits.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and communicate quality data.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and changing requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance, if required.
- Must qualify as a U.S. person under applicable U.S. export-control requirements.

This is an on-site, full-time, exempt position in Columbus, Mississippi.
Travel is rare; however, occasional domestic or international travel may be required.
