Quality Engineer
Description
Support the Client Vernon Hills Supplier Quality department
Support quality initiative to update specifications and drawings of branded, private-labeled, and distributed products
Interact with suppliers and internal functions to review and approve change control documents
Interact with Client plant to ensure all discontinued manufacturing activities have been properly handled and plans are in place for managing remaining inventory.
Support the development of policies, procedures, quality plans, quality agreements and methods to govern sourcing management activities.
Lead and support supplier improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and supplier regulatory compliance.
Escalate any significant issues.
Provide support to operational excellence initiatives to improve product & process quality and regulatory compliance.
Other tasks & projects, as assigned.
Required Competencies
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field required. Engineering degree strongly preferred.

- Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the following areas: Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance/Control, Statistical analysis, FDA QSR's, lean manufacturing, risk management (ISO 14971), and ISO/EC (MDD, CMDR, ISO 13485, J-PAL) requirements.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in participating and leading quality systems audits preferred .
- Specialized Knowledge
- ASQ certification in Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB), Quality Engineering, and/or Quality Auditing preferred.
