Quality Engineer

About the role

Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance, the Quality Engineer will provide technical guidance to the quality assurance department, production, engineering, customer service, and contracts. The role maintains vendor/customer relationships while supporting all quality functions for current production and product development, and is responsible for APQP and product development requirements for new and takeover programs as required. The engineer leads RCCA teams to resolve quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Champion the production part approval process (PPAP) and develop customer documentation needed for compliance with customer requirements and applicable standards.
• Manage and implement solid problem‑solving methodologies, including “lessons learned” reporting for error proofing and continuous improvement.
• Assess day‑to‑day production and pre‑production quality systems to identify deficiencies and participate in issue resolution.
• Assist management with the development of production and pre‑production quality systems as needed.
• Provide trending analysis on quality issues and performance metrics in manufacturing.
• Conduct First Article part evaluations, including electrical test reports, and create the complete documentation package.
• Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) teams and perform strong root cause analysis and corrective action for internal and external issues.
• Work under minimal supervision on varied duties and tasks.

Requirements

• Must meet ITAR government regulations to be employed by Midcon.
