About the Role

This position serves as the lead auditor for ISO-9001 and plays a critical role in maintaining and improving quality standards across operations.

Responsibilities

  • Train staff and operations in Quality Standards.
  • Identify, document, and communicate the dimensional and appearance Key Characteristics (KC) of each assigned product, including customer-dictated KCs and those identified internally.
  • Collaborate with engineering to develop gauges and fixtures for controlling dimensional KCs.
  • Assist operations in training employees on the use of gauging and fixturing.
  • Collect product quality data and maintain charts on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as First Pass Yield (FPY), Defects Per Unit (DPU), and Delivered PPM (DPPM).
  • Regularly post KPIs on communication boards in operating areas, including customer feedback (VOC) and quality alerts.
  • Work with engineering and operations personnel to drive quality defects back to root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Participate in scheduled CQAs and communicate findings to operations personnel.
  • Engage in Material Review Boards (MRBs) and determine disposition of non-conforming materials (NCM).
  • Request, review, and approve supplier PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process).
  • Support the completion of customer PPAPs, including forms such as Appearance Acceptance Reports, Control Plans, Dimensional Results, Balloon Diagrams, Part Submission Warrants, Process Flow Diagrams, and Process FMEAs.
  • Submit and track customer 8D reports.
  • Serve as the escalation step for supplier non-conformances.
  • Participate in the Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) Process to ensure plant readiness for product/process changes and new product introductions.
  • Maintain frequent communications and visits with customers to foster partnership relationships.
  • Conduct and/or participate in supplier development activities for key suppliers.
  • Lead quality improvement programs targeting DPPM (Defective Parts Per Million).
  • Provide current, accurate quality performance metrics to operations.
  • Coach and develop inspectors.
  • Set performance improvement goals for KPIs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical engineering or three to five years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience.
