About the role

We are seeking a metallurgy professional with expertise in steel heat treat processes to support our production of guide bars, pistons, and crankshafts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
• Devise sampling procedures and design forms for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.
• Establish programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production, testing, measurement, and analytical equipment.
• Develop and implement methods for disposition of discrepant material and assess cost and responsibility.
• Compile and write training material; conduct training sessions on quality activities.
• Generate statistical reports on inspection activities, new product/process testing results, and recommend actions.
• Maintain technical skills through training classes, seminars, and trade shows.
• Ensure all work affecting product quality is performed competently based on education, training, skills, and experience.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in metallurgy, specifically steel heat treat processes.
• Experience with induction hardening on strip steel and batch heat treat using furnaces for crankshafts.
• Knowledge of metal turning and/or stamping.
• Proficiency with quality tools: 8D, FMEA, Process Audits.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline, or equivalent education and experience, is preferred.
