About the role
The Quality Engineer will create, implement, maintain, and monitor quality plans related to manufacturing processes for rotating and structural aerospace components. This role involves analyzing manufacturing process capabilities, providing root cause analysis, corrective action, and guidance to maintain and improve metrics.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing process quality plans
- Create process documentation (CA&V, ICP, PFMEA)
- Review and disposition non-conformance; facilitate root cause review and assignment
- Monitor process quality metrics and initiate improvement plans
- Implement corrective actions and monitor sustainment
- Monitor process capabilities and raise issues for awareness
- Interface with suppliers to develop and troubleshoot special process issues
- Review drawings and specification changes
- Interface directly with customers to alleviate quality issues
- Monitor and develop plans to alleviate MRB/Slow moving WIP
- Present process metrics utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of customer specifications and requirements
- Develop and train customer/part-specific procedures for quality, technical, and operational staff
- Submit and introduce FPA/DAR plans/changes
- Provide technical leadership to team members
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Manager, or Director
Requirements
- 3-5 years of quality engineering experience, preferably in aerospace machining
- Good understanding of GD&T
- Strong understanding of inspection methods, preferably on high-precision aerospace components
- Mechanical aptitude
