Quality Engineer

About the role

The Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining technical and quality systems within a stainless steel tubing mill. They perform failure analysis on nonconforming customer and supplier materials, driving root cause and corrective actions, and resolve manufacturing and material grade issues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare PPAPs, Control Plans, and PFMEAs for automotive clients
• Participate in internal and TS16949 surveillance audits
• Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
• Analyze quality data and prepare reports and presentations
• Oversee the APQP process and support continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Knowledge of ASME and ASTM standards
• Experience managing multiple projects
• Expertise in automotive quality tools such as PPAP, PFMEA, and Control Plans
• Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies like 8D
• Effective communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
• B.S. in Engineering or related field
• At least 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in stainless steel or metallurgy
