Quality Engineer
Essential Job Functions
- Publishes and revises quality procedures and policies (as required).
- Develops quality and inspection plans based on contractual requirements.
- Interfaces with customers on quality issues and manages QMS and special-process audits.
- Reviews contractual requirements to ensure internal requirements, procedures, and specifications compliance.
- Maintains build records of shelter configuration as required by contract.
- Provides direction and support to inspectors, including interpretation of specifications.
- Reviews nonconformances and determines/concurs on disposition.
- Analyzes and implements corrective action requests and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
- Reviews drawings for Configuration Management as needed.
- Supports the development of quotations for new business (as required).
- Monitors QA department spending against assigned programs.
- Troubleshoots and investigates corrective actions (RCCA).
Experience and Skills
- BS/BA in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of professional experience required.
- ASQ certified Quality Engineer or equivalent experience or ASQ certified Quality Auditor or equivalent certification or experience.
- Prior experience in a quality engineering role preferred.
- SPC experience and/or training; geometric tolerancing; ISO 9000 training; (AS9100) Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.
Education and Experience
BS/BA in a technical field or equivalent experience. 3+ years of professional experience required. ASQ certified Quality Engineer or equivalent experience or ASQ certified Quality Auditor or equivalent certification or experience. Prior experience in a quality engineering role preferred. SPC experience and/or training; geometric tolerancing; ISO 9000 training; (AS9100) Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
Office environment. Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones). Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
