About the role
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for continuous improvement, quality systems and process controls throughout the Business Unit. They will also implement corporate and plant quality procedures into their business unit and ensure team members are trained and adhering to these procedures.
Responsibilities
- Continuous improvement and quality systems management
- Implementation of corporate and plant quality procedures
- Affirmation of team member adherence to quality procedures
- Leading the PPAP process to successful conclusion
- Problem solving and process improvement analysis
- Guidance and support to Quality Engineers
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant experience preferred
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent preferred
- Manufacturing Assembly experience preferred
- Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in a relevant engineering discipline within a manufacturing environment
- Five (5) to eight (8) years in a quality focused engineering role preferred
Skills
- Advanced technical knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes
- Strong understanding of statistical process control
- Advanced knowledge of OEM quality standards, systems, and processes
- Successful Product Launch / Production Start-up experience
- Experience leading the PPAP process to successful conclusion
- Advanced knowledge and practical application of problem solving / process improvement analysis, tools, and techniques
- Strong root cause analysis background
- Advanced computer skills, including P.C. knowledge and current technology software familiarity
