About the Role

You will manage supplier quality as it relates to daily production, including investigating suspect material, ensuring proper processing of rejected material, and administering SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request), RMAs, scrap, and related processes. This position also oversees any Quality Technicians who may report to you.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) and owner of the documented process.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accuracy and the overall process.
  • Work closely with the operations manager to identify, report, and solve problems.
  • Optimize and organize the reject quarantine area based on point of use and volume.
  • Drive the “Plan for Every Part” transformation and mentality regarding suspect material and its proper handling.
  • Communicate clear instructions to team members.
  • Train team members in accordance with company guidelines on assembly procedures.
  • Create and maintain hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly metrics, reporting on them daily.

Requirements

  • 3 years of relevant work experience in quality engineering and/or leadership; bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Proven ability to drive cohesion and collaboration among diverse teams and functions.
  • Confidence, presence, and credibility to command respect, particularly within operational departments.
  • Adaptable and flexible—open to change in response to new information or unexpected circumstances.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and MRP systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Capable of wearing task-specific personal protective equipment, including dust masks, air-purifying respirators (half or full-faced), safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
  • Must meet OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines.
  • Required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch as necessary for job activities.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.

Location

This role is located onsite at the Hagerstown, IN facility.
