Quality Engineer

About the role

The Engineer will support the development, testing, verification, and validation of high explosive projectiles from a Quality Engineer / Product Assurance Engineer perspective. This role requires close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical personnel to help ensure the munition system meets quality, performance, safety, reliability, and design requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

Key duties

• Assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering efforts related to projectile design, test activities, and technical assessments
• Helping develop, review, and refine test plans, test procedures, specifications, system requirements, engineering analyses, and technical data packages
• Evaluating test results, documenting findings, identifying technical issues, and supporting corrective actions or design improvements as needed
• Frequent on-site travel to support test events, technical reviews, manufacturing activities, and coordination with government, contractor, and test stakeholders
• Working in dynamic environments, solving complex technical problems, and clearly communicating results, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, but other relevant engineering disciplines will be considered
• Experience or familiarity with engineering development, testing, verification, and validation processes
• Ability to support the preparation and review of test documentation, specifications, requirements, and technical data packages
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and help develop practical engineering solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently for on-site testing, reviews, and program support activities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and support work in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred qualifications

• Familiarity with quality engineering, systems engineering, product development, test execution, or defense-related engineering processes
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, technical documentation, and configuration-controlled data
