About the role
You will drive quality actions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in order to meet or exceed all regulatory and customer requirements. This role supports the forging and machining operations in Anniston, AL.
Responsibilities
- Support PFMEAs and create Control Plans for all product lines
- Create and modify inspection instructions
- Liaise with government quality assurance representatives to ensure conforming product is presented to government
- Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
- Lead Material Review Board (MRB) teams
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform quote and contract review to ensure customer quality requirements are captured and communicated to manufacturing
Requirements
- College degree in an engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience as a quality engineer in a manufacturing environment
Skills
- PFMEA/Control Plan experience
- Highly effective communicator
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in CNC machining
- GD&T proficiency
Preferred Skills
- Experience operating in an organization with government quality oversight
- Experience with NDT (magnetic particle inspection)
- Experience with Gage R&R studies
- Familiarity with FAR/DFAR requirements
- Familiarity and working knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 standards
- Experience with Lean and process improvement tools/methods
- Experience with Six Sigma and SPC techniques
- Experience with programming in PolyWorks
