About the role
The Quality Engineer is accountable for all aspects of quality at the Celina, TN facility, ensuring product compliance with internal, regulatory, and customer quality requirements. This role interfaces with external stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, and contractors, as well as internal teams including sales, marketing, operations, customer service, finance, human resources, engineering, and IT. The position is onsite in Celina, TN, and relocation assistance is available.
Responsibilities
- Lead improvement initiatives to eliminate and reduce variation, waste, scrap, and rework.
- Serve as the primary customer interface and owner for all customer quality concerns, corrective actions, and audits.
- Collaborate with engineering to improve product designs and reduce process defects through error-proofing methods and process variation reduction techniques.
- Support supply chain in resolving incoming material quality issues by ensuring containment measures and implementing corrective actions with suppliers.
- Own the Quality Management System, including monitoring, assessing, maintaining, and improving the ISO 9001 quality management system.
- Actively participate in new product planning and implementation.
- Lead the development and implementation of quality policies.
- Design, implement, and support the quality system and process improvement, including training, coaching, and continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other applicable field.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in cross-functional organizations.
- 5-7+ years in the T&D industry, specifically dry-type transformers (preferred, not required).
- Heightened sense of urgency, results orientation, and competitive spirit.
- Strong ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, and solve problems quickly.
- Clear communication skills and ability to handle internal/external challenges and conflicts.
- Lean training and experience.
