About the role

The Quality Engineer supports the manufacturing environment by ensuring product quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. The role is responsible for the development of effective quality assurance policies and programs to ensure the organization produces quality products in a cost-effective manner. Qualified candidates must be able to work an on-site schedule at our Greeneville, TN office/facility.

Responsibilities

  • Support product quality by developing and implementing methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection to ensure products are free of flaws and function as designed.
  • Perform product testing and analysis to minimize potential defects and failure rates while maintaining quality levels in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Implement sampling plans, statistical process control (SPC) techniques, and quality-assurance procedures.
  • Analyze production limitations, standards, reports, and defective products to determine trends and recommend revisions to specifications when indicated.
  • Represent quality assurance in product design and development projects.
  • Develop the economics of quality control programs when required.
  • Recognize critical problem areas and potential consequences, seeking appropriate guidance to find alternate solutions.
  • Consistently seek feedback and guidance to develop a thorough understanding of products and customer preferences.
  • Use existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems; receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others.
  • Show familiarity with new designs, methods, techniques, materials, and advances in engineering technology to increase production efficiency.
  • Recognize the potential use of emerging technologies.
  • Apply fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in quality engineering.

Travel: Up to 20%

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related technical field.
  • 2+ years of relevant Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exemplar Global Certified Lead Auditor.
  • IATF16949:2016 certification.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer.
  • AIAG PFMEA training certification.
  • LEAN/Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • World Class Manufacturing (WCM) training/experience.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Able to communicate effectively.
