About the role
Deceuninck North America is seeking a Quality Engineer for its Monroe, OH facility. This highly analytical role focuses on constant review of manufacturing processes to identify quality improvement opportunities that increase efficiency, reduce costs and scrap, and enhance customer satisfaction through measurable KPIs. The position requires the use of advanced Six-Sigma tools (DMAIC), 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Process FMEA, and Capability studies as the foundation for projects.
Responsibilities
- Work with management to identify new quality improvement opportunities.
- Communicate with customers on quality issues and identify solutions.
- Analyze and identify opportunities to reduce process variation, improve process capabilities, and optimize process performance.
- Evaluate and analyze current process metrics and performance to identify areas requiring improvements.
- Collaborate with the operations team to foster a quality culture, identify improvement opportunities, and utilize Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools to define root cause and corrective actions.
- Coordinate the implementation, monitoring, and review of quality training records.
- Assist with the ongoing development and implementation of effective quality management systems, policies, and procedures.
- Communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing plant; plastic extrusions highly desired.
- 3-5 years of experience successfully managing quality improvement projects.
- Proficient knowledge of Six Sigma and standardized lean techniques and concepts (Green Belt required or willingness to get certified; Black Belt preferred).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Passion for customer commitment for both internal and external customers.
- Self-starter and deadline-oriented.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Previous experience writing SOPs.
- Proficient in MS programs, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
- Experience with analysis and interpretation of data gathered from Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Comfortable with public speaking and developing training visuals.
- Statistical analysis experience (Minitab).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or similar field.
