Quality Engineer
About the role
This position will be based out of our Gallipolis, OH location. The Quality Engineer will lead and facilitate the implementation of global and site-specific quality initiatives along with their continual improvement. Responsible for day-to-day site quality engineering activities including material disposition, internal/external concern management, APQP/FMEA/PPAP activities, metrology management, and more.
Responsibilities
- Collect, organize, monitor, and communicate information and reports related to the Management System and process improvements.
- Identify, analyze, and provide solutions for quality-related problems and opportunities.
- Serve as the technical quality liaison between the customer and site manufacturing process.
- Manage customer concern management and corrective action request process.
- Oversee document and data control systems, ensuring all controlled documents are current and relevant.
- Lead contact and expert on EDC Systems (electronic data collection) and facility GQS (Global Quality System).
- Maintain Layered Audit Program (tracking, data entry, scheduling).
- Manage internal and external audit programs, including coordinating third-party audits with certification bodies.
- Represent the quality assurance team in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and control plan development.
- Facilitate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Process Sign-off (PSO), and other customer-specific requirements.
- Lead, coach, and develop quality assurance team members.
- Operate and program equipment/gages in Quality and Metrology Labs, including CMM.
- Responsible for data entry, creating, filing, organizing, and communicating documents as required.
- Support the Quality and Engineering group by providing system expertise regarding customer requirements.
- Manage location and/or group internal and external audit program activities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- 2+ years of Quality Engineering experience (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, LPA, etc.).
- Strong experience in problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5Why, Fishbone, etc.).
