Quality Engineer

About the role

Our Quality Engineer provides a critical link between Product Development, Implementation and Support, Packaging, Plant Operations, and Quality. This role drives the site’s quality culture through rigorous risk management, root cause investigation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily plant support to address quality issues and continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist in technical reviews of changes in labeling, formulas, specifications, suppliers, plant sites, and packaging to ensure continuous improvements
• Interface effectively with key business partners including Operations, Product Development, Implementation and Support, Procurement, Vendors, and regulatory bodies to drive business results
• Conduct Good Manufacturing Practice audits to ensure plant compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices and conformance to Global Quality Standards
• Evaluate finishing line stability through Statistical Process Control and execute corrective actions based on process capability trends
• Develop inspection and rework protocols for material at the plant and the distribution centers
• Participate in product inspections, line trials, On-Shelf Quality Audits, etc.
• Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce scrap, rework, and customer complaints
• Utilize quality tools such as Change Control, Root Cause Analysis, Failure Investigation, Pareto Charts, Control Charts, and Notice of Deviations to drive continuous improvement
• Review and approve completed batch production records and associated quality documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related technical field
• 3+ years of manufacturing plant experience
• Experience in quality systems with practical knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and Risk Assessment tools

Qualifications

• Understanding of cGMP and 21 CFR 210 & 211
• Proven communication, time management, and project management skills
• Working knowledge of SAP
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
• Experience conducting quality training and cGMP training

Pay

Salary Range: $76,800.00 - $95,000.00 USD. Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
