About the role
This role operates in an AI-first engineering environment where agentic coding tools are part of your daily toolkit, enabling you to test smarter, faster, and with greater confidence.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites across UI, API, and integration layers using Cucumber with Selenium and REST API testing frameworks, leveraging AI tooling where appropriate.
- Build, extend, and maintain automated regression and CI test suites, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) to deliver fast, reliable quality feedback.
- Leverage AI agentic coding tools (Claude code, Github Copilot) to accelerate test authoring and generate coverage for complex user flows.
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering to define acceptance criteria, testable requirements, and quality gates early in the development lifecycle.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing; diagnose defects, drive root cause analysis, and see issues through to resolution.
- Participate in Pull Request reviews, technical discussions, and design reviews, championing quality, testability, and engineering best practices across the team.
- Design and execute performance and load tests using Gatling or JMeter, and analyze results to surface bottlenecks and reliability risks.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our quality engineering practices, tooling, and test frameworks, and help mentor peers on quality standards.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience or demonstrated curiosity with AI agentic coding tools and the ability to effectively direct AI coding tools to generate, extend, and maintain test coverage.
- Highly analytical mindset with a logical, methodical approach to problem solving and root cause analysis.
- 3+ years of experience in software quality engineering or test automation, with a track record of building and owning automated tests.
- Strong hands-on experience building automated regression / CI test suites using Cucumber with Selenium and REST APIs.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar).
- Ability to design functional tests, test plans, and test strategies, and to configure test environments and test data.
- Experience with performance testing using Gatling, JMeter, or comparable tools.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate test results and quality risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bonus: exposure to containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and/or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Bonus: Familiarity with LLM-based test generation, MCP tooling, or agentic automation workflows.
