Duties And Responsibilities
- Aid in preparing and delivering departmental reports, charts, and graphs on defects and scrap.
- Analyze charts and lead improvement/reduction efforts.
- Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and confer with management and engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Read blueprints and/or engineering specifications to obtain casting information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimension requirements; compare surface finish of work pieces to finish requirements.
- Manage FAI submission process and resolve non-conforming measurements detected during FAI process.
- Participate in PPAP process from planning, implementation, and execution of final inspection plans.
- Provide education and instruction to plant personnel on recommended quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and overall efficiency improvements to meet quality control standards.
- Assist in project tasks such as data control, documentation, procedure updates, resolving quality issues using continuous improvement techniques.
- Occasionally assume Final Inspection responsibilities.
- May be DSQR certified and perform required duties and sign-off.
- Support NC processing on a regular basis using database systems to record and monitor disposition.
- Verify and assess the effectiveness of Corrective Preventative Actions (CPAs).
- Respond to customers in a timely manner for complaints, containment, and RMA requests or any product quality-related inquiries with a goal of 24-hour turnaround.
- Complete all corrective actions within 10 working days for external and 20 working days for internal corrective actions once assigned.
- Assist in interactions with customers regarding technical characteristics of casting design, specifications, and methods of manufacture.
- Initiate part disposition at MRB - deciding which are for scrap and which are for rework - and determine rework routing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace engineering, manufacturing, or quality discipline.
- 2-4 years of Quality and manufacturing experience.
- Experience in casting manufacturing technology is preferred.
- ASQ Certification is preferred.
- Excellent computer skills.
