A Day in the Life
In this role, you will spend the majority of your day on the production floor, auditing processes and products, implementing quality assurance/quality control procedures, and supporting assigned product groups. Key activities include:
- Reviewing internal and external quality data for assigned product groups to drive product and process improvements.
- Collaborating with plant engineers and line technicians to enhance production processes, ensuring quality is built into the product and increasing output.
- Performing quality audits, inspections, and addressing quality-related questions from staff.
- Organizing and presenting audit findings to initiate corrective actions.
- Analyzing manufacturing and quality instructions to improve product build quality.
No two days are the same—some may involve firefighting on the production floor, while others may focus on deep-diving into quality issues to identify and address significant corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Quality Manager to develop and implement quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Spend 95% of your workday on the manufacturing floor implementing quality solutions and working on major projects.
- Take total responsibility for product quality, including procured and in-house parts, assembly processes, functional testing, and packaging of the finished product.
- Maintain a continuous improvement mentality with a focus on Kaizen (small changes for the better).
- Perform quality audits, inspections, and support staff with quality-related questions.
- Organize and present audit findings in a measurable manner to obtain deliverables and initiate corrective actions.
- Review manufacturing and quality instructions, methods, and processes to improve product build quality.
- Work with the Quality Manager to manage the Quality Management System (QMS) for third-party audit organizations.
- Report directly to the Quality Manager for your facility.
Requirements
- 0-10 years of experience.
- 4-year technical degree in an electrical, electronics, or mechanically oriented curriculum.
- Internship/co-op experience is preferred.
- Must enjoy hands-on product exposure.
- Electrical skills and experience required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software is a must.
- Strong multi-tasking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Commitment to perfect product quality and maintaining a safe work environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work standing for extended periods.
- Required to use ladders, forklifts, or other means to acquire parts for product assembly.
- Able to use power and hand tools, as well as electrical testing and measuring equipment.
- Ability to lift 35 to 50 pounds independently.

Pay
$65,000–$90,000 base salary, negotiable dependent on experience, with additional monthly bonuses based on productivity and profits.
