About the role
Review quality policies, communications, programs, and practices to ensure customer satisfaction. Develop and recommend improvements to meet program objectives.
Responsibilities
- Perform internal audits.
- Provide oversight of product manufacturing to ensure engineering documentation aligns with manufacturing methods.
- Coordinate "first article build" activities for new products, ensuring traceability to documented standards before production release.
- Develop test methods and procedures to support product validation.
- Maintain test equipment to traceable standards.
- Perform performance validation tests to meet customer specifications and generate test reports.
- Review AITF 16949 documentation, instructions, procedures, and quality manuals to ensure operational compliance.
- Support AITF 16949 activities.
- Address customer quality issues using FMA, 8D, and SPC problem-solving methodologies, including customer communication and visits.
- Manage production part builds and layouts for PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
- Work directly with engineering on issues or changes.
- Investigate and support corrective actions for internal or external customer concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent.
- 3+ years of work experience in quality assurance.
- Experience in automotive seating.
Skills
- Technical capacity and thoroughness.
- Collaboration and computer proficiency.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, including customers and suppliers.
- Knowledge of APQP, SPC, FMEA, and 8D problem-solving methodologies.
- Familiarity with AIAG methods, blueprint reading, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Commitment to confidentiality.
Work Environment
This role operates in both an office setting and on the plant floor.

- Regularly use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently walk, stand, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
