Quality Engineer
About the role

Responsibilities
- Administers and maintains the AS9100 Quality Management System
- Leads internal and external audits
- Drives corrective actions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
- Implements data collection techniques to monitor manufacturing processes
- Improves the quality of existing production processes
- Determines quality improvement parameters using statistical methods
- Analyzes quality data, prepares reports, and recommends corrective actions
- Creates Non-Conformance Reports for all defects found on flight hardware
- Utilizes various failure investigation techniques (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) to determine root causes of failures
- Works with engineering to determine defect disposition
- Works with suppliers to create corrective action plans
- Supports manufacturing process with background knowledge of machine shop production
- Prepares and presents customer documentation and delivery paperwork
- Approves rework, repairs, or finished product by confirming specifications and conducting visual and measurement tests
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years related experience
- AS9100 QMS Management
- Familiarity with failure investigation techniques (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone)
- Experience working in a production environment
- Experience with SAP, preferred
- Experience with space flight hardware, preferred
- PC skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Background knowledge of machine shop production
- Solution-driven, willing to make a difference, and customer-oriented
- Capable of supporting manufacturing process
