About the role

As a Quality Engineer in Madison, SD, you will drive quality control methods, procedures, and equipment to ensure consistent product quality. You will work in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation, contributing to projects that impact communities across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Implement inspection standards for materials, products, and processes throughout manufacturing
  • Identify quality issues, maintain inspection records, and support corrective action efforts
  • Manage non-conforming material activities including containment, rework, and release
  • Analyze customer complaints and internal failures to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Support quality assurance personnel and ensure alignment with quality goals and timelines
  • Conduct process capability studies and measurement system analyses to support problem-solving
  • Prepare data-driven quality reports using statistical analysis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production capabilities and continuous improvement
  • Work efficiently with suppliers and Applied partners

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • Experience in manufacturing or metrology processes preferred
  • Ability to supervise quality assurance personnel and guide quality procedures

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Statistical Process Control, including performing and interpreting Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) studies or measurement system evaluations
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma tools including Design of Experiments
  • Working knowledge of APQP, FMEA, and PPAP methodologies
  • Proficiency with document software such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
  • Capable of working independently and as a team member
  • Strong work ethic and unwavering integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a learning mindset
  • Curiosity, problem solving, and analytical thinking
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Desire to work on a variety of projects

Pay

  • Engineer I: $34.62–$40.38/hour
  • Engineer II: $38.46–$44.23/hour
  • Engineer III: $43.27–$49.04/hour
  • Senior Engineer: $46.63–$53.85/hour

Final compensation is based on experience, skills, and alignment with role expectations. Paid overtime may be available.
