Quality Engineer

About the role

This position supports the Quality Control Section Manager in completing various duties required to meet department goals. AISIN Electronics does not offer any form of employment sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Ensure product compliance with customer requirements.
• Interface with customers regarding manufacturing quality issues.
• Work with approved suppliers to procure quality subcomponents using PPAP.
• Participate in drawing review during early product planning stages.
• Engage in cross-functional PFMEA activities and control plan development.
• Implement customer part approval process per AIAG guidelines.
• Evaluate data, set control levels, and maintain SPC control charts on selected items.
• Present information at Quality Review stages.
• Provide feedback on customer quality information to manufacturing.
• Coordinate and implement quick countermeasure activities.
• Meet with manufacturing to address in-process problems and subcomponent issues.
• Maintain current drawings.
• Support customer and supplier PPAP processes.
• Conduct supplier evaluations.
• Set up and evaluate RT parts.
• Evaluate returned product (field and customer) and prepare reports.
• Prepare management review materials (monthly and QR).
• Perform process audits, defect analysis, and reporting.
• Support QIP and Hoshin Kanri activities.
• Address 3K issues (e.g., Hub & ECT pin holes).
• Help achieve ISO/TS16949 and ISO 14001 registration within company timelines.
• Perform duties in conformance with safety and security standards.
• Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by supervisor or management.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (4-year degree) in engineering or engineering technology (BSC or BEng) from a university with H.L.C. and A.B.E.T. accreditation.
• Accepted degrees: Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Control, Computer, Electro-mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Automotive, Mechatronics, Robotics, or Systems Engineering.
• 5+ years of applicable experience in manufacturing.
• Electronics and automotive experience desired.
• Valid passport required for travel.
• SolidWorks or other CAD drawing software experience preferred.

• Strong cooperative personality and ability to work across shifts (including weekends and holidays).
• Ability to travel on short notice, including overseas.
• Ability to interact well with coworkers and follow posted work rules/company procedures.

Work Environment

The role operates in a manufacturing setting with exposure to:

• Dust, noise, oils, greases, grinding debris, compressed air, metal shavings, propane, and solvents.
• Occasional heavy lifting.
• Hazardous machinery and conditions that could result in injury (including fatality) if safety measures are not followed.
• Shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils.
• Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay

$76,250 – $90,250 annually.
