Responsibilities
- Must follow Ahlstrom's manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures, and policies to meet and maintain safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Actively promote and participate in safety efforts
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement and process optimization projects
- Lead and participate in problem-solving activities
- Assist manufacturing with troubleshooting quality issues
- Act as a technical resource to support Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing, Product Development, and Quality
- Monitor and analyze internal quality data for product optimization
- Monitor, improve, and optimize coating line web inspection systems
- Ensure compliance for ISO 9001 certification
- Lead the development of new lab test procedures
- Directly/Indirectly supervise resources assigned to technical day-to-day and project-based work
- Promote the quality management system by providing a basic understanding of requirements, specifications, test protocols, etc.
- Support customer claim investigation
- Lead and participate in internal audits for ISO 9001 management system
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science discipline
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- 1-3 years of experience in applicable technical, process, quality, manufacturing, or product development role
- Internship experience will be considered
- Prior experience in the paper industry is desirable but not required
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Prior experience in data preparation, analysis, and presentation required
- Basic understanding of statistics preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft programs with the ability to learn other software
- Ability to identify, prioritize, and drive multiple initiatives on an on-going basis
- Ability to work on projects independently with limited supervision
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Some weekend and holiday work, as necessary
