About the Role

This position provides quality engineering support for plant operations at Adient’s Murfreesboro, TN facility. The role involves responding to quality issues reported internally or externally, investigating root causes, and developing temporary and permanent countermeasures using appropriate resources and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support assigned model(s)/line(s) by addressing quality issues and concerns, understanding their nature, and investigating root causes.
  • Develop and implement temporary and permanent countermeasures for quality issues.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs, including but not limited to:
    • Shift production loss due to build issues or interruptions.
    • EOL/DCS reject/rework improvement.
    • Operational scrap rate.
    • Departmental continuous improvement (CI) task assignments.
    • Nissan PPAP submission and performance metrics (E64, AVES).
    • Corrective action correspondence.
  • Lead and manage ongoing programs and monitor responsibilities for new program launches.
  • Escalate issues, tasks, and risk items as appropriate.
  • Perform general quality control/assurance management tasks, such as maintaining daily quality reports and validating corrective action status.
  • Adhere to company safety rules and participate in job rotations.
  • Engage in plant-wide, line, department, and training meetings.
  • Support the plant in achieving safety goals and maintaining AMS objectives.
  • Promote environmental management system compliance and resource conservation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, and medium to strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Three or more years of experience in the automotive environment (preferred).
  • Knowledge of quality core tools (e.g., 8D, 5-Why’s, Fishbone, 4M, Pareto).
  • Experience interacting with plant management, operations teams, supporting functional teams, and customers with prompt responsiveness.

Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret quality policies and procedures.
  • Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence, and work instructions.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
