Quality Engineer*
About the role
The Quality Engineer role involves collaborating with innovative 3Mers around the world, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and external customer requirements and regulations. This position offers opportunities to transition from various backgrounds into a 3M career.
Responsibilities
- Represent the customer, evaluate customer complaints and issues, samples and trends, and determine necessary action plans
- Lead Corrective Action Prevention Action (CAPA), Risk Management, Quality at the Source, and Customer Quality Index initiatives and deployment
- Use statistical techniques to create sampling plans and execute data analysis
- Develop new test methods and execute test method validations for new and existing products
- Assist deployment of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodology to control Key Process Indicators (KPI)
- Provide change management oversight from the quality function to ensure adequate training and/or qualification of changes to assigned products and processes
- Support the process engineering team
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a science, engineering, math, or technical discipline from an accredited institution
- Two (2) or more years of experience in engineering, quality, or other technical role
- Statistical knowledge and Lean Six Sigma familiarity
- ISO 13485 or ISO 9001 audit experience
- Previous quality experience in a medical device or drug manufacturing environment
- Experience deploying industry specific quality system requirements beyond ISO9001 (e.g. NIOSH, CSA, ANSI etc.)
- Test method development and validation experience
Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
- May include up to 10% domestic on-site travel
- Relocation assistance may be authorized
Pay & Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $98,964 - $120,957, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
